Used Cantilever Racking — Oil City, PA

Quoted, shipped and installed inside a week, from stock.

Alpha Omega Shelving supplied and installed cantilever racking at a facility in Oil City, Pennsylvania. The material came out of our own used inventory in Carnegie, which meant the project went from first call to completed installation in under a week.

Cantilever racking exists for loads that do not fit a pallet. Pipe, tube, lumber, bar stock, conduit, extrusions, sheet goods — long material that typically ends up staged on the floor because it will not go into standard pallet racking. Anything stored flat on a floor is consuming square footage at ground level and is usually difficult to access without moving everything stacked on top of it.

The design is what makes it work. Cantilever uses arms extending from a central column rather than beams spanning between two uprights, so there is no front column obstructing the load. Material loads from the side, each level is open across its full length, and an operator can pull a single piece without disturbing what is around it. Arm length and spacing are selected around the specific material being stored.

The timing on this project is the part worth understanding. New cantilever racking is built to order and carries a real manufacturing lead time measured in weeks. Used cantilever already sitting on a distributor’s floor removes that step entirely. That is the practical argument for buying used from a stocking distributor rather than from a listing site — speed only means something if the steel physically exists when the call comes in.

Alpha Omega Shelving stocks used cantilever racking along with pallet racking components at our Carnegie, Pennsylvania facility, and supplies and installs throughout Pittsburgh, Venango County and the surrounding tri-state area. Current used inventory changes regularly, so availability is worth a direct call.
